In Savannah you will find historic and newly built. Downtown townhomes (say that fast four times), are mostly European style, grand and costly. Most of the townhomes in the Historic district have a garden apartment below that can be used as a business, a rental or a guest apartment. Above the garden apartment are two stories which are the main living areas. Most have terraces and many are built around one of the unique squares in Savannah, with beautiful oak trees and mature shrubbery.
The newer townhomes on the islands, the southside, or in Pooler, Rincon and Richmond Hill are usually one to two story attached homes with shared walls and a small couryard. The cost of these homes are usually less and there are amenities for the community to share.
